E-Invitations: Bring Your Wedding, Engagement and Henna Invitation Online
An e-invitation is an invitation you send to your guests by WhatsApp or SMS that opens as a web page on their phone. The date, time, venue location and RSVP answer are collected on a single link; if the time or venue changes, you update it without reprinting.

What is an e-invitation and how is it different from a printed one?
A printed invitation is printed and handed out once; the information on it never changes afterwards. An e-invitation, on the other hand, is published on a web address that belongs to you. When your guest taps the link, the invitation opens in their browser — no app installation is required.
In practice this wins you three things: you can correct information later, your guests get directions to the venue in one tap, and instead of phoning every address to ask who is coming, you see the answers in your RSVP list.
If you do not want to give up printed invitations, you can use both. A code printed on the card takes guests straight to your digital invitation; we explain how to do this step by step in our QR code invitation guide.
What does an e-invitation include?
A good e-invitation answers the questions your guests would ask before they ask them. UQR Event e-invitations bring together the following information on a single page:
- The names of the couple or hosts and the name of the event
- The date and time
- The venue name, address and directions on a map
- An RSVP section where guests answer “Attending” or “Not attending”
- Your own photos and a short invitation message
- A link to photo and video sharing for the day of the event
The last item is what connects the invitation to the big day itself. The page you use to invite people belongs to the same event as the page where guests upload photos on the wedding night. You will find this flow described in detail on the QR code photo sharing page.
E-invitation templates for weddings, engagements and henna nights
Every occasion has a different mood; the colours you choose for a henna night may not suit a wedding invitation. That is why we organised our templates by event type.
Wedding invitations
There are nine different templates for weddings. You can choose from sober typographic designs to models that put the photo centre stage.
Engagement invitations
The three engagement templates use a warmer, more family-focused tone than a wedding. If you want to continue the same design at the wedding, we can plan that together.
Henna night invitations
We prepared two templates for henna nights. Because henna invitations are usually sent to a smaller circle, these templates keep the wording more personal.
Other special occasions
Three more templates are available for celebrations beyond weddings, engagements and henna nights. You can open and try all of them on your own phone on the sample invitation page.
Collecting RSVPs with an e-invitation
RSVP means “répondez s’il vous plaît” and lets the host know how many people they will host. With a printed invitation the usual solution is to write down a phone number; the result is a long list to call.
With an e-invitation, the guest leaves their answer in a single tap the moment they open it. The answers appear in your admin panel, so you always have an up-to-date list for the seating plan and catering.
There will always be guests who do not respond. Sending the same link, with a short reminder, about a week before the event is usually less hassle than phoning around.
E-invitation or printed invitation?
They are not rivals. Your guest list decides which suits you. The table below is here to make the decision easier:
| Topic | E-invitation | Printed invitation |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery time | The moment you send it | By hand or courier, within days |
| Changing information | Update the page, the link stays the same | Reprint or notify everyone individually |
| Directions | One tap on the map | As an address text |
| RSVP tracking | Answers listed in the panel | Asked one by one by phone |
| Keepsake value | Stored digitally | A physical keepsake to hold |
Many couples give a small number of printed invitations to elders and close family and send e-invitations to everyone else. When a QR code is added to the printed cards, the two worlds meet on the same event page.
How do you prepare and send an e-invitation?
-
Choose your template
Pick a template that suits your event type and see how it looks on your phone on the sample page.
-
Enter your details
Add the names, date and time, venue information and the photos you want to use.
-
Send it to yourself and check
Send the link to yourself and to a friend first. Check that the map opens the right place and that the RSVP buttons work.
-
Share it with your guests
Send the link by WhatsApp, SMS or e-mail. A short, warm message increases the chances of the link being opened.
-
Track the answers
Follow the RSVP responses in the panel and send a short reminder to those who have not replied after a week.
Example messages to send with the link
Dear friend, we would love to have you with us on the most beautiful day of our lives. Our invitation and directions are in this link; we would be delighted if you let us know your attendance there.
Dear guest, we are looking forward to welcoming you to our engagement ceremony. The date, time and location are all in the link below.
Some elders may not enjoy opening links. Phoning them does not replace the e-invitation but completes it.
Frequently asked questions about e-invitations
Do guests need to install an app to open the e-invitation?
No. An e-invitation is a web page; it opens in the phone's browser whether it is an iPhone or an Android.
Can I change the information after sending the invitation?
Yes. When you update details such as the time, venue or message from the admin panel, the change appears on the same link. Your guests do not need a new link.
How many people can I send the e-invitation to?
Because an e-invitation is a web link, you can share it with as many people and through as many channels as you like.
Can I use the e-invitation together with a printed one?
Yes — and it is the most common choice. The code printed on the invitation sends guests to your e-invitation. For details, see the QR code invitation guide.
How much does an e-invitation cost?
The price depends on the event type, the number of guests and whether you use the e-invitation together with the QR photo collection service. For a personal quote, get in touch with us.
